Personal Information
Studio Corsair, LLC understands your desire to protect personal information. We intend to inform you how your personal information will be gathered, tracked, or used, and to give you choices. If choices are not offered on web pages where your personal information is obtained, please select one of the communication channels at the bottom of this statement to indicate your communication preferences.
General Information We Gather and Track
We request personal information when you create an account, place an order, register a product, request a service, answer a survey, enter a contest, correspond with us, or engage in certain other activities on our website...
How We Use the Information We Gather
We use personally identifiable information in the following ways:
- To provide you with information about product upgrades, new products, services, newsletters, and more.
- To assist us in creating content that is relevant to you.
- To provide you with special offers that may be of interest to you.
- To deliver your messages and operate, maintain, and secure the service.
- To process payments for credits and subscriptions.
Message Content
To deliver messages and operate the service, Parakeet processes the content of the messages you send and receive through it. This includes message text, attachments such as photos, and message metadata such as the sender, the recipient, and when a message was sent and delivered.
We retain messages sent and received through Parakeet.
Automated Safety Screening
Messages may be screened automatically, including by machine-learning models and by third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf, to detect content that is prohibited by our Terms and Conditions or by correctional facility rules. Examples include arranging contraband, threats of violence, extortion, escape planning, and sensitive personal identifiers.
A message flagged by screening may be reviewed by Parakeet staff, delayed, or not delivered.
De-identified and Aggregated Data
Parakeet may create de-identified or aggregated data from message content, meaning data that no longer identifies you or the people you message. We may use this data to develop, test, evaluate, and improve safety and content-screening systems, including products we offer to third parties.
We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data, and we do not sell identifiable message content.
Disclosure to Law Enforcement and Correctional Authorities
We may disclose your information, including message content, when required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to a person.
Messages sent through correctional messaging systems, such as TRULINCS/Corrlinks, are already subject to monitoring by the correctional facilities that operate them, independently of Parakeet.
